River and lake bottom sludge has increasingly affected the development
of river and Lake flood control, drainage, irrigation, water supply,
navigation and other work. In order to carry out dredging, China carries
out large-scale river and lake dredging sludge engineering every year,
resulting in hundreds of millions of cubic meters of dredged sludge. At
present, the common methods in river dredging engineering use dredging
ships to dredge by means of cutter suction, rake suction, hydraulic
scouring and excavation and so on.
The water content of dredged mud produced by this dredging method is up
to 3-5 times or even higher than the liquid limit. It is in a state of
fluidity and is easy to leak during transportation, causing pollution to
the environment. In order to avoid environmental pollution, sealed
tankers are used to transport the sludge to the stacking point,
resulting in a sharp rise in the price of transportation. At the same
time, the high water content of dredged sludge requires large capacity
containers to be stacked, that is, it occupies a large storage yard
area.
