河道污泥成分复杂，含有大量微生物、病原体、重金属及有机污染物等。随着全球经济的发展和改造地球地理环境活动的增加，沿海和内陆河流及湖泊的清淤作业工作越来越多。由于这些污泥或淤泥颗粒小、不易脱水、承载力低、有机物含量高、流动性大等缘故，无法直接用作填海工程、堤防工程、道路工程中的工程填土。
The composition of river sludge is complex, containing a large number of microorganisms, pathogens, heavy metals and organic pollutants.
