将大量的废弃淤泥运输至离水体

所谓抛泥处理就是将大量的废弃淤泥运输至离水体距离较近的特定抛置区并倾卸，然后经过水体的不停降解和交替作用，而不会对水体环境造成致命性破坏，从而降低淤泥对水体的污染程度。这是长期以来处理淤泥最常用的方法。

但此方法的缺点就是随着淤泥抛弃量的剧增，既占用了宝贵的土地资源，对距离较远的地方又产生了很大的运输费用，淤泥中的有害物质又对环境产生了很大危害。
